Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila trek , starts from chopta as
the base point, the trek usually starts early morning to Tungnath temple, the
highest SHiva temple in the world, the climb is about 3.5 kms. Its a well paved
path for the climbers through meadows and forest cover.
From Tungnath, one ascends to the Chandrashila summit at
4000 meters, the climb is a bit steep of about 1.5 kms. So the total trek from
Chopta is about 4.5 kms and the return to base is back on the same trail.
