Roopkund Trek Guide – Unraveling the Mystery Lake of the Himalayas

Roopkund Trek Guide – Unraveling the Mystery Lake of the Himalayas

The Roopkund Trek is arguably India's most intriguing and thrilling high-altitude treks, famous not just for its stunning Himalayan vistas but also for its historic and mystical charm. Located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, this trek leads to the enigmatic Roopkund Lake, famously called Skeleton Lake due to the centuries-old human remains lying at its bed. At an altitude of approximately 5,029 meters (16,500 feet), Roopkund is set against the dramatic backdrop of the towering Himalayan peaks of Trishul and Nanda Ghunti.

This trek is ideal for adventure enthusiasts who want to witness the beauty of snow-covered mountains, meadows, and age-old tales in one go.
