The Kuari Pass Trek, also known as the "Lord Curzon Trail," is a stunning and relatively moderate trek located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Situated at an altitude of around 12,516 feet (3,815 meters), the trek offers breathtaking views of some of the most prominent Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Hathi-Ghoda, and Kamet. The trail is ideal for both beginners and experienced trekkers, thanks to its manageable difficulty and incredible scenic diversity.
Starting from the base village of Joshimath, the trek passes through dense oak, rhododendron, and pine forests, which are especially vibrant in the spring. It also includes charming hamlets, expansive meadows (locally known as bugyals), and ridge walks that offer panoramic mountain views.
One of the highlights of the trek is the Kuari Pass itself, a vantage point that provides a sweeping view of the snow-capped Himalayan range.
